Pure Nuff Stuff

Now, apart from falling a little bit in love with the man presenting it (wandering about his fabulous garden in his bare feet making lovely things and being so excited about them, oh I'm getting all teenager-ish about him!) - what sense the man talks!!

Have a look at this programme if you haven't caught it already, it's a stunning introduction to really natural skincare and I love his positive, sensible attitude to it all. He makes it all very easy to understand and he goes step by step through some great little recipes you can make at home. It's modern alchemy, he's definately cast his spell on me, that's for sure :)

Second Episode

Emily...just to say I did indeed watch this and that last night was the second episode. Not sure if last weeks will still be avaliable on the iPlayer? This is one of those programs that really inspires people...it even has my lot of hardened chemical addicts in the lab talking!!! Not sure if anybody here would actually go for this option, but next weeks episode might inspire...I believe that painkillers will be covered! Bring it on, anything "drug free" (I of course mean naturally based without the chemical nasties) that may help my migraines is welcome!

Thanks for that Helen, seen both programmes now and I must say, I like him even more now.
I can't remember when I last had a crush like this, it must be Spring or something :)

Oh, and about your migraines, how do you deal with them please (I suffer too)?

Migraines

Mostly triptans and codine, however 4head does provide some relief. I also find ice packs on the offending area helps a lot.

Migraines

Do you ever get food cravings when you feel a migraine coming on? I do, sometimes, and for the strangest things (sausage rolls with brown sauce for example - and I'm not mad keen on sausage rolls at all) and find that if I eat that thing, the migraine goes off altogether. Odd eh?

Strange but true

Yes but my cravings tend to be for the things which give me the migraines i.e. chocolate/marmite etc...Sometimes I get cravings before migraines and giving in to them seems to ward it off??!! Perhaps this has its basis in homeopathy?!! My worst craving during migraine is for Pot Noodles (beef and tomato) and nine times out of ten this cures it, also bottled strawberry flavoured water seems to work!!

Oh how strange

But like you say, it works doesn't it? It's just one of those, if you'll forgive the phrase, "listening to your body" things" but it really does the trick for me. I just wish I got a craving every time I got the headache, that would at least give me the chance to ward it off, which would be nice, I hate taking all those pills. It does shock me what we get cravings for though, foods that we don't normally eat, I wonder what that's all about? Cheers for letting me know it's not just me though :)
