We now have a "Home" section on the site

Well we've finally faced the fact that we can't make everything, so we've decided to add a few things to the site that we like and think you'll find useful - all of them will share our ethos though so you can shop with confidence.

The first one I've put on is a nifty little hand sanitiser, does the job when you can't get to a sink to wash properly and doesn't cost a fortune either.  Let us know what you think of them.

I'm also adding essential oils over the next few days, this is a long job though, so please be patient.  We're also on with sourcing some nice makeup, home cleaning products and toothpaste, these are all being tested by us first, so will take a few weeks to decide on.

Is there anything else you'd especially like us to find for you?

Mascara Results
Well I am glad to say that I have seen no evidence of panda eyes...however the effect is quite natural and for those girlies who like lashings of Mascara this probably won't cut it! I will also say there seems to be no irritation from the fibres in most modern mascaras...I assume that there are none in there due to the natural organic nature of this product. Good results for me anyhow.

So sorry, only just seen this post
That's good news, thanks for letting us know.  And yes, this is always the trouble with the natural mascaras, you're never going to get that "spiders legs" type lashes as my other half calls them, but that's not necessarily a bad thing in my mind.  Many thanks for the review though, that one's on the drawing board again now.

Solid Perfumes?
Ooo - what would we like to see? Now you're asking! How about some solid perfumes? Something that would melt at body temperature so it would go on easily. You could put them in the little tins you use for the lip balm so they'd be easy to carry around. I reckon your tantra, heavenly, rose and vanilla and geranium and lemon fragrances would go down a treat. Think of the combinations!

Third it!
...I think this is a very good idea. I don't know about anyone else but since I've been learning about natural toiletries etc I find that if I smell someone who is wearing 'normal' perfume it smells very 'chemical' - just not natural. Maybe this is psycological on my part but even if it is - bring on the PNS naturals!

Mmmmm this goes back to an idea we had a long time ago....
Thanks very much for the suggestion (and support to it), Helen and I had a little talk about it last night and we like this idea a lot actually.  But, as ususal, there's some explanation and choices to be made, so I've started a new topic to get the debate going - please chuck in any ideas/thoughts you have and we'll try and do our best to please you all :)

Brilliant
All those are on the first lot of stock I bought, so you're in luck.  They should be on the site after the weekend now, but thanks for your patience.  I'm trying to put them up with some information on general use (both in the home and for personal use too) and advice on dilution as well.  But glad you're happy wiith the idea, thanks for letting us know :)

EOs, toothpaste and advice!
Glad you are stocking EOs. I have been thinking about getting some for a while now (not gone down that avenue yet)but it is difficult to know whether they are from a reputable source. Problem now solved. Are these suitable for adding to one of your base oils for toiletry purposes - its just that you are listing them under your Home section. Maybe you could put them in DIY as well? Any chance that you will be selling vanilla EO? Also, I think GP toothpaste is the best around if you are not going to make your own :-( I have been using the mint but also just bought some citrus and aloe vera which was suprisingly nice too. No odd myrrh taste from them. It's a shame that you are not going to do your own make-up. Just make sure that you don't become an advertising site for other brands that may do skincare products also. Curious individuals may be tempted to take a peep at their other products! However, I'm sure they wouldn't be enticed when they make a comparison with the PNS brand!!!

Thanks, that's not a bad idea at all...

I think I will pupt them under DIY, they are indeed suitable for making your own potions with (or adding to ours) so that's where I'll put them.  I was thinking more of some of the other uses for them initially (cleaning, home scents etc) so that's why I started it off under Home, but it makes more sense to put them under DIY actually, thanks PNSF, I can always rely on you :)

And don't worry about us diversifying too much, or becoming an adertising site for other companies.  Without trying to sound cocky here, we're pretty confident in our range now and I do think there's room in this market for a good few like-minded companies to support eachother, but I do take your point.  We'll be careful x

And on the toothpaste front, we're still undecided about the brand, we're testing quite a few and I know it's been ongoing for a while, but it will be sorted soon.  Once I got over my initial fear of myhrr-tasting products, there's quite a few I've found I like, it's just the ethics of the companies that make them and the provenance of the ingredients that we're checking on now.

Good Point
I just assumed the EO's would be suitable for dilution and application to the skin from such a great place!!

Have no fear Helen!
They will indeed be quite safe for use on your skin and quite a lot else besides, so your assumption was correct :)

make-up
I'm sorry Ive got soo much to say today but I couldn't help but get excited when you mentioned about bringing in the make-up! I love having fun with make-up but would be great if I could get hold of more natural stuff. Ok, I think I've finished gushing now!

Mmmm, we had candles a while back
But they didn't really go all that well to be honest, so regardless of how much we liked them ourselves, we thought there might not be too much of a demand for them.  Is there a reason you'd like soy ones specifically please?

Hi Emily
Well...I swapped to soy candles when I read that normal paraffin candles release a carcinogenic soot when burned which makes sense really as paraffin is a by product of petroleum. So I started using soy and beeswax candles I like both but just prefer soy I guess but then I also read that some aromatherapy candles that are fragrances with synthetic oils release microscopic particles that can cause cancer and other health problems - I should probably stop reading so much. I am now on the look out for 100% natural candles.

EOs for cleaning
I could be barking up the wrong tree here, but I was just wondering being as though you can use tea tree in a spray form for cleaning surfaces etc.... is there anything I could use as a natural polish on wood furniture?

Hi Ursula
You will need a 500ml spray bottle. Add 2 tsp olive oil, 20 drops lemon eo, 1/4 a cup of white vinegar. Then top the bottle up with water. You will need to shake well before each use as the vinegar and olive oil will separate and try it on a small piece of furniture first I use this recipe and I haven't had any problems with it staining etc.
