Pure Nuff Stuff

Oh it's good to be back! I've had the most fabulous few days off tending the garden (the veg plot and herb gardens are both doing very well fact fans) and now I've got a lot of catching up to do here. Dean's been keeping the orders going out (and posting on the blog, love him) and Dougie and Helen have been in the workshop making soap and creams flat out. Now Helen's got a few days off with the kids and it's my turn... trouble is, my time off has left me in a mischievous mood, I feel prankster-ish.

I'll try and control myself though, and I'll get busy with some ordering, we need lots of essential oils already - my, you like them don't you? - have you got any special requests?

Oh, before I forget, I've been growing some of the things I saw on that Grow Your Own Drugs programme, I really liked the sound of that hop and lavender sleep pillow. I have a new Top Tip, when growing hops in your garden, give them plenty of room, they've been growing 7 inches a day and are now totally covering the arch and reaching for the sky.

Hello Ms Green Fingers!!!!

...it seems as though you've got the knack for gardening. Sounds as though you had a good holiday as well - glad to hear that. Well, talking of gardening I've just been doing some bedding out today and more importantly I've been using Lafes non-scented roll-on deodorant. And YES IT WORKS! I've been sweating as it is quite warm where I am and there was no nasty pong and I'm still OK - just re-checked. Also, I've been checking out some of your Body Bliss testers. My favourite is Rose and Vanilla followed by Lemon and Geranium. However, I'm afraid I'm not a Tantra fan (can't win them all) - so I must Email you with my address for the new perfume trial. Also, I want to buy some more EOs from you but would also like some vanilla - so can you list it, please? I like your new recipe section - good idea. Bye for now.

Hello there Eagle Eyes

Nice to hear from you! I've only just been adding the new recipes this afternoon, well spotted! This section will be added to a lot over the coming weeks, so do let us know if you try any of them and tell us how they worked for you :)

And yes, I've been really enjoying the gardening, not sure I can take all the credit for it though as my industrious other half has been responsible for the compost which I'm sure has been responsible for the ridiculous growth we're experiencing. It's very satisfying this growing stuff lark isn't it?

Great news about the Lafe's trial too!! It seems too simple, but they really do work, I'm delighted to hear you agree :)

belated addition to gardening blog ...

HI Emily. Well, I am off work for a few weeks and so have been browsing the net in spare moments .... stumbled across your blog: well done you for your gardening efforts. Being in Penzance we don't have much of a garden so I have taken on an allotment and am also having great fun making the earth move with my green(ish) fingers. You might want to check out the website called swapseeds - it works a bit like freecycle, you offer whatever you have spare and ask for what you would like and - tada! works like magic, all these lovely shifty-looking packets of 'stuff' start arriving in the post: and so y'garden grows! Fantastic. This gardening business, it really is the new rock 'n' Roll - even my daughter up in B'ham and her boyfriend have got into it. They were here for a visit last week and I sent them home all inspired to try growing potatoes from peelings: yes, truly: the sprouty bit of the pototo that has to be cut off when peeling: don't throw it away - plant it, a medium pot will do, and within weeks you have a pot full of scrummy new potatoes (or p'tadeys as they call em down ' ere) - and all for free! again - fabulous. x

Swapseeds etc

It's great all this growing lark isn't it? I have seen swapseeds but have actually had more luck with swapping seedlings that I and friends have grown on and have a glut of. This way, you know they like the area, soil etc and you can get rid of the 20 extra coriander plants that somehow all took and get in return some squash that I never would have planted :)
